CPMI of January 8 approves request for access to Bolsonaro’s breach of secrecy

The CPMI of January 8 approved this Tuesday (13) a request to request access to data extracted during the breach of secrecy on the cell phone of former President Jair Bolsonaro (PL). In addition to Bolsonaro’s information, the parliamentarians will also ask the Federal Police to access data from the cell phones of former Minister of Justice Anderson Torres and former aide Mauro Cid. Torres and Cid will also be summoned to provide clarifications to the commission.

The PF obtained the information during Operation Venire, which investigates alleged fraud in vaccination cards. The sharing of data with the members of the collegiate depends on the PF’s response.

Former Bolsonaro ministers Walter Braga Netto and Augusto Heleno are also expected to attend the CPMI. The parliamentarians also approved the summons of George Washington de Oliveira, who was arrested after an attempted bomb attack near Brasília’s international airport, and Gustavo Henrique Dutra de Menezes, former head of the Planalto Military Command (CMP), reported the newspaper The globe.

Also invited will be: Jorge Eduardo Naime, then Commander of the Department of Operations (DOP) of the Military Police of the Federal District; Elcio Franco, former adviser to the Civil House; and Julio Danilo, who served as Secretary of Public Security for the Federal District until January 2nd.

The CPMI requested the sharing of alerts from the Brazilian Intelligence Agency (Abin) before the January 8 acts; full copy of all documents from the Planalto Military Command between January 6th and 8th; and information from Telegram about the acts.
