The parliamentarians who are part of the CPMI that investigates the acts of January 8 resume their work this Tuesday (13) with a long list of 285 requests for summons and requests for documents to be analyzed.
Among them are alerts made by the Brazilian Intelligence Agency (Abin) about the risks of demonstrations, files and images of the buildings of the Three Powers and information on the work of the Institutional Security Office (GSI).
There is an expectation that the first calls for depositions will be approved, such as the former secretary of public security for the Federal District, Anderson Torres, responsible for defense actions on January 8; Jorge Eduardo Naime, former commander of the PM-DF; and Saulo Moura da Cunha, former deputy director of Abin.
“Depending on the progress of the work – as there are many testimonials – we may have up to three weekly meetings”, said deputy Arthur Maia (União Brasil-BA), president of CPMI, this weekend on social networks. For now, the committee meets on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
The CPMI work plan was presented last week by the rapporteur Eliziane Gama (PSD-MA), with previous conclusions and directions for lines of investigation. She started from the central thesis that the acts of vandalism on January 8 were aimed at “the pillars of institutions and democracy”.
The rapporteur wants to investigate facts prior to January 8th, as being preparatory to acts of vandalism in the headquarters of the Three Powers, and expressed a preferential focus on financiers and intellectual mentors. Eliziane does not even rule out investigating social media platforms.
