Entity that represents the courts of accounts in Brazil, Atricon (Association of Members of the Courts of Accounts of Brazil) defends a bill that establishes that invoices issued by public administration bodies to private service providers are freely accessible, without constituting violation of tax secrecy.
The measure was proposed in December on the initiative of federal deputy Gilberto Nascimento (PSD-SP). The objective is to increase the transparency of public spending.
“This matter is of great importance for the control of public purchases and, if approved, should make information about the values practiced in the different spheres of public administration more accessible to the population”, says the president of Atricon, Cezar Miola.
