Registration is open for the online journalism course “Advanced Online Investigations”, at the Knight Center, at the University of Texas, in the USA.

Divided into five modules, the course will be taught by journalists Craig Silverman, former editor of the Canadian unit of Buzzfeed News, and Jane Lytvynenko, an independent reporter focused on covering news from Russia and Ukraine, who will address the mechanisms used in investigations of online materials. .

The first module will focus on the organization of investigative work in order to facilitate the entry of the greatest amount of information into reports.

In the second module, participants will receive instructions on how to use social networks to find the right sources to talk about certain subjects and, in the third, methods to analyze images and find people and locations.

The last two modules will be dedicated to the investigation of internet pages. The fourth module will focus on the structure of websites, while the fifth will help you find information on online advertisements and understand how advertising works on pages.

The course has a registration fee of U$ 95 (R$ 459) and duration of five weeks. All classes and materials will be recorded on the institution’s platform during the course period, which runs until July 16.
