Banks and agencies of the INSS (National Institute of Social Security) will not have face-to-face service this Thursday (8), due to the Corpus Christi celebrations.

The date is not considered a national holiday, but some Brazilian cities usually declare a municipal holiday. Banks will reopen on Friday (9), at normal hours, but INSS agencies will only resume service on Monday (12).

According to Febraban (Brazilian Federation of Banks), consumption bills such as water, telephone, electricity and others, and payment slips due on June 8th, can be paid, without penalty, on the following day.

“Usually, the tributes already come with dates adjusted to the calendar of national, state and municipal holidays”, explains Walter Faria, Deputy Director of Services at Febraban.

If the document has not been adjusted, the recommendation is that the customer anticipate payment or schedule it through ATMs, internet banking or apps.

Customers must carry out their operations through internet banking or applications. It is also possible to use the ATMs, but it is necessary to check the opening hours of the banks’ self-service rooms.

During these four days, the person who wants to make an appointment, ask a question or request a service or benefit from the INSS must go to the 135 call center or access the application or the website of Meu INSS. You must have an account on the gov.br portal for virtual service. Telephone 135 will be available from 7 am to 10 pm from Thursday (8) to Saturday (10).

The call is free only from a landline or for those who live in Brasília (DF) and have a Claro cell phone. Those who use cell phones from other markets and operators will be charged for a local call.

Last week, the federal government announced an optional point for federal employees on June 9. In states and municipalities, each location can also enact the same measure for servers.
