O Coritiba overcame the first knockout stage cup and qualified for the third phase of the competition. This Saturday (13), Verdão won the Retro-PE1-0, at the Nicolau Alayon Stadium, in the second phase, and guaranteed a place in another stage of the Copa São Paulo de Futebol Júnior.
The Alviverde team continues with 100% success and has not yet conceded a goal in the tournament. The next opponent will be Juventus, who defeated Avaí, by the same score, also this Saturday (13). The date and time of the match have not yet been announced.
The match started evenly, but it was Coxa who opened the scoring. In the 16th minute, Felipe made the move on the right, crossed into the area and the ball deflected into the Retrô defense. Well positioned, Jean Gabriel took advantage of the rebound and scored Coxa’s goal (see below). In the second half, the Pernambuco team narrowly missed out on a draw, with dangerous attacks from Gogó. But Coxa managed to hold on, mainly with another good performance from goalkeeper Pedro Morisco, and guarantee passage to the Copinha.

During extra time of the match, players from both teams got into confusion, with altered moods and a tense atmosphere, and almost led to regrettable scenes. The referee sent off striker Hilton, from Coxa, and Pirula, from Retrô.
Coach Guilherme Bossle’s men now have four wins in four games, with a 100% success rate. Before Retrô, the alviverde team beat Canaã (2 x 0), Monte Azul (5 to 0) and Juventus-SP (2 to 0) in the first phase.
