Coritiba beats Canaã-DF and debuts with victory in Copinha 2024

O Coritiba debuted with victory in São Paulo Junior Football Cup 2024. Coxa defeated Canaã-DF 2-0, on Friday afternoon (2), in a match played at the iconic Rua Javari stadium, in the capital of São Paulo.
In the first half, Coxa opened the scoring with a penalty, converted by midfielder Jean Gabriel, one of the team’s main highlights. In the final stage, the thigh-white team expanded with an own goal from Cebola, after a corner kick from Jean Gabriel.

Coritiba returns to the field next Monday (8), at 1:15 pm, against Monte Azul-SP. The game that closes the first phase of Alviverde is scheduled for next Thursday (11), at 3:15 pm, against Juventus-SPhost team of Group 31 of the youth tournament.
This is Coxa’s 34th participation in Copinha. The best campaign in history took place in 2004, when they reached the semi-finals and ended up being defeated by Corinthians in the semi-finals.
In the last edition, Coxa was eliminated in the third phase of the competition, against Novorizontino.
