The Council for Sustainable Social Development of the Lula government, the so-called “Conselhão”, will launch on Wednesday (23) a working group dedicated to the creation of a national policy for early childhood.
The collegiate will bring together specialists who will address proposals for children up to six years old. At the end of the work, which must be carried out within 180 days, a document will be presented to the federal government.
The creation of the working group was suggested by the executive president of Todos Pela Educação, Priscila Cruz, and by the doctor in public health, Lígia Moreiras. Both the NGO and the Maria Cecília Souto Vidigal Foundation will provide the technical report on the activities carried out during the period.
The launch event on Wednesday should bring together ministers such as Camilo Santana (Education), Alexandre Padilha (Institutional Relations) and Wellington Dias (Social Development). The Vice President of the Republic and Minister of Development, Industry and Commerce, Geraldo Alckmin (PSB), will close the ceremony, which will be held at the Planalto Palace, in Brasília.
Launched in the first government of Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT), the Conselhão was reissued in the third term of the PT. The advisory forum brings together representatives from different sectors, such as businessmen and unionists, to discuss and suggest measures for the country’s development.
