Conmebol wants the final of the Sudamericana in Brazil and to define Libertadores
[ad_1]
Conmebol wants the final of the Sudamericana to be held at the Mané Garrincha stadium in Brasília. But he expects a commitment from the local authorities, with intermediation from the CBF.
The plan is to compensate for the removal of the single final of last year’s competition from Brazilian soil and schedule the game this year in the federal capital.
The match left Brasília because it would coincide with the election weekend, in October.
AND THE LIBERATORS?
Conmebol’s eyes on Brasília, thinking about the South American Cup, make it more difficult for Brazil to be on the route to the Libertadores single final this year. The entity does not usually place the two continental decisions in the same country. Thus, the Libertadores final tends to take place in another country.
Conmebol hopes to define the venue for the Libertadores single final this March. The draw for the groups will take place on the 22nd, in Luque, Paraguay.
NEXT CHAPTERS
A window for choosing the venue for the Libertadores single final is the Conmebol Council meeting, which should take place around March 15. On that occasion, the leaders will be in Rwanda for the FIFA Congress.
The Conmebol Congress, in turn, will be on March 31, the week following the Libertadores draw.
