The idea is to follow the model of the guardianship councils; the Chamber of Deputies will analyze the proposal
Federal deputy Professor Goreth (PDT-AP) presented a bill (PL 4829/23) allowing members of Fundeb’s monitoring and social control councils to be remunerated through jetons — payments received by public agents for their cumulative participation in tax councils. The proposal is under analysis in the Chamber of Deputies.
The councils are provided for in the Fundeb Law regulation law. They are responsible for supervising the distribution and application of the fund’s resources. Each state or municipality has its own board. Currently, the law establishes that the work of council members is not remunerated.
Specialization
Deputy Professor Goreth advocates that this rule be changed. For her, the payment of jetons encourages the participation of specialists.
“The remuneration of counselors is a key element in attracting qualified and experienced professionals to these positions, as is the case with guardianship councils”, said Goreth.
Next steps
PL 4829/23 will be conclusively analyzed by the Education committees; Finance and Taxation; and Constitution and Justice and Citizenship.
