Colonel becomes defendant for cursing generals during acts of 1/8 – 06/27/2023 – Power

Reserve Colonel Adriano Camargo Testoni was charged this Tuesday (27) in the Military Court for recording videos with insults against generals and members of the Army High Command during the anti-democratic acts of January 8.

The complaint against Testoni was accepted by federal judge Flávia Ximenes Aguiar de Sousa, from the Federal Military Court.

The colonel was the first indicted by the Army after the January 8 acts. The Force’s conclusion was that the reserve soldier had committed two military crimes by releasing videos with attacks on generals and the High Command.

The first is the crime of injuria. There is also the aggravation due to the fact that the insults were uttered against general officers, that is, hierarchically superiors.

The second is the crime of offending the Armed Forces, characterized by “disseminating facts, which you know are untrue, capable of offending the dignity or undermining the Armed Forces’ credit or the trust they deserve from the public”.

Added together, the sentences can be one year and eight months in prison.

“Thus, in view of the objective and subjective requirements for the filing of the military criminal action, I RECEIVE the Complaint offered against Colonel R1 ADRIANO CAMARGO TESTONI, already qualified. As a result, I DESIGN JUL 18, 2023, at 2:00 pm, for the hearing of the offended parties and the witness listed in the inaugural piece, as well as those of the Defense”, wrote the magistrate.

Such as Sheet showed, Testoni sent the videos with the offenses against the generals in groups and WhatsApp that he participated with classmates from Aman (Military Academy of Agulhas Negras) formed in 1987.

“Bunch of motherfucking generals. Cowards. Look what’s happening to us. [Ex-comandante] Freire Gomes, son of a bitch. Fucking High Command. Look at the people, my wife”, said the colonel in the recording.

“Armed Forces, motherfucker. Bunch of motherfucking generals. Cowards. Look what’s happening to us. This Army of ours is shit, shame on you. Shame on you military men, classmates, you’ll all take it in the ass,” he added.

The day after the invasion of the headquarters of the Powers, Testoni recorded a new video to apologize to his colleagues.

“We didn’t invade anything, we were against violence. We were wrong, in the wrong place. But if you see a relative, a person you love [ficar] injured, unable to see or breathe. The emotion took over,” she said.

The colonel worked at the Hospital das Forças Aramados under a Temporary Task contract — a type of contract used in the Ministry of Defense, Army, Navy and Air Force to generally employ reserve or retired military personnel for temporary and specific functions.

After the repercussions of the case, Testoni was fired from his position. He still receives, however, R$ 25 thousand gross as retirement.
