This content is about a fact that is still being investigated by the newsroom. Soon we will have more information.
Minister Luís Felipe Salomão, inspector of the National Council of Justice (CNJ), determined this Tuesday (30) an inspection procedure in the 13th Federal Court of Curitiba and in the offices of magistrates of the Federal Regional Court of the 4th Region where proceedings arising from the Operation Car wash.
The measure called “extraordinary correction” (see full text) was determined by “the existence of several disciplinary complaints presented to the council over the past few days, pointing to the need for inspection and verification of facts related to the conduct of magistrates and judges linked to the judicial branch”, says the CNJ in a note.
According to the authority, this is a functional attribution of the national internal affairs department, either for external reasons presented to the CNJ or acting autonomously, as usual.
“Procedural deadlines will not be suspended while the correction is being carried out and work at the unit should continue on a regular basis”, he adds.
The ordinance also determines that the inspection team can subpoena people appointed by the auxiliary judges of the internal affairs department to provide clarification. The CNJ states that the teams targeted by the inspection have already been officiated, in addition to the Attorney General’s Office (PGR), the Public Defender’s Office and the Brazilian Bar Association (OAB), in its sections in Paraná and Rio Grande do Sul.
A team of three auxiliary judges and three other civil servants from the National Corregedoria were designated for the correction, which will be carried out under secrecy of Justice. Inspection begins this Wednesday (31) and is expected to be completed on Friday (2).
