Clécio Luís asks the Federal Government to recognize an emergency situation for Amapá – News of Brazil

The governor, Clécio Luís, met this Wednesday, 25th in Brasília, with the minister of Integration and Regional Development (MIDR), Waldez Góes, to request recognition of the decrees regarding the emergency situation due to the drought and fires that are affecting the state, in particular, the municipalities of Tartarugalzinho and Amapá.
“The municipality of Tartarugalzinho has already declared an emergency situation and was summarily approved by the Ministry. We came here to deal with the state as a whole, and we had an excellent meeting with Minister Waldez, who has already articulated the possibility of also having at least six more ministries to help Amapá in a comprehensive way”highlighted the governor.
Clécio Luís declared a state of emergency on October 21st, after the state registered more than 10,000 hot spots in less than a month. The measure aims to make administrative decision-making to combat fires and provide assistance to affected populations more agile and reduce bureaucracy.
The State Government’s first humanitarian action has also reached residents, with the delivery of food and hygiene kits, bottles of mineral water, water tanks, fuel, five thousand units of hypochlorite, as well as water tankers for supply of families and irrigation of plantations.
Immediately, the MIDR guaranteed the sending of R$1 million for humanitarian aid in Tartarugalzinho. In addition to R$2 million for the construction of 10 artesian wells and cisterns in the municipality.
“Now, with the state decree, we will apply the same attitude, we will carry out summary recognition of the state decree. Which allows, based on the recognition by the Federal Government that is done by us, the transversal action of many ministries such as Fisheries, Health and Institutional Relations, for example. All of them have already been called because the situation could get worse”reinforced the minister.
With amendment from the senator David Alcolumbre in the order of R$ 6.5 million, water truck service and the purchase of 13 new trucks will be guaranteed.
Assistance
Still as a response action by the Federal Government, the Ministry of Development and Social Assistance will allocate a monthly total of R$87 million to pay Bolsa Família to beneficiaries in municipalities with recognized decrees.
Through the Food Acquisition Program (PAA), R$24 million were allocated and a further R$14 million to the State Government. Of these, R$235,000 is already available for Tartarugalzinho.
The Department of Social Assistance is surveying families living in the municipalities to distribute food kits.
Fishing
Another measure, this time from the Ministry of Fisheries and Agriculture, will be the payment of emergency aid for an initial period of 2 months for fishermen in addition to the defense insurance, which is 4 months. Food kits will also be distributed to these workers.
Health
The Ministry of Health is sending a “disaster kit”, which contains medicines and supplies for primary care to serve 1,500 people per month. A survey of priorities in the Ministry’s programs will also be carried out, in addition to extraordinary financial contributions on a fund-by-fund basis.
Environment
The Ministry of Environment and Climate Change will offer training for brigade members to strengthen the state and municipal network in the Lagos Region. In addition, 15 brigade members must reinforce the teams in Tartarugalzinho and Oiapoque through the PrevFogo action.
