Governor Clécio Luís announced this Tuesday morning, the 4th, that on the next 24th the Minister of Transport, Renan Filho, will come to Amapá to announce the work that will finally conclude the paving of the BR-156.
Clécio spoke on the LuizMeloEntrevista program (Diário FM 90,9), by telephone, directly from Cayenne, capital of French Guiana, where the 12th Meeting of the Mixed Commission on Cross-Border Cooperation Brazil/France is taking place.
The governor said that he was giving the information by passing on what the licensed councilor André Lima, who occupies the Directorate of Programs at the Ministry of Transport and was also at the binational event, had told him.
Clécio Luís recalled that there are 110 kilometers left for paving the BR-156 to be concluded. This extension goes from the municipality of Calçoene to the municipality of Oiapoque. The paving of the federal highway in Amapá is one of the most long-lasting works in the country, lasting around 70 years.
The governor combined the announcement of Minister Renan’s arrival with the efforts of senators Davi Alcolumbre and Randolfe Rodrigues to raise funds for paving the BR. David already has resources allocated. Randolf promises to allocate. The sum of the amendments of the two parliamentarians will be sufficient for the final achievement of the work.
Regarding the cross-border cooperation meeting in Cayenne, which ends today, Clécio Luís described it as very fruitful, with himself acting, among other points, to correct the existing institutional asymmetric relationship between French Guiana and Amapá.
The governor showed, for example, that in practice there is cooperation between Brazilian and French people, on the border, but not between governments. In the security sector, Clécio Luís also showed, French soldiers know Brazilian soldiers, but there is no institutional cooperation.
The manager from Amapá points out that the return of the visa procedure in Macapá, which is currently done in Brasília, is fundamental. “We also defend, for a short period of time, the end of the visa requirement, because if the person from Amapa wants to go to a European country, he does not need a prior visa, but if he wants to go to French Guiana, he needs to have a visa”, formatted Clécio Luís.
The governor also showed that the total paving of the BR-156 is essential for relations with French Guiana to flow with confidence, since one of the agreements for the construction of the bridge over the Oiapoque River is the guarantee of paved roads. From the beginning, French Guiana fulfilled its part in this regard, but the Brazilian government still hasn’t.
