City Hall delivers airline tickets to para-athletes who will participate in the Brazilian Championship in SP – News of Brazil

The city of Macapá prioritizes education and sport, in favor of training and development of individuals. In this regard, the mayor Dr. furlan delivered 29 airline tickets to paralympic athletes from Amapa who stood out and won a spot in the Brazilian Paralympic Championship, in São Paulo. The Championship takes place from April 18th to 22nd.
The group that will travel is part of the project “School Parasports Games”.
The Mayor of Macapá, Dr Furlan, highlighted that the government needs to invest in actions that develop young people. “These 29 tickets guaranteed by the city hall, so that our para-athletes can compete in São Paulo, will not only result in more medals for the city, but also in building character”the chief executive understands that sport is a path of good, a path that keeps these children away from social vulnerability.
Sport support project in Macapá
In partnership with Unifap, Semed develops the “School Parasport Games” project, conceived by Semed’s Special Education Division. It was created in 2022, targeting children regularly enrolled in Macapá municipal schools, aiming to encourage the practice of sports by people with physical, visual and intellectual disabilities.
