Businessman Luciano Hang, owner of Havan, denied involvement in the attempted coup d’état under investigation by the Federal Supreme Court.

Hang’s name is mentioned in the plea bargain of Mauro Cid, Jair Bolsonaro’s former aide-de-camp.

In it, Cid says that Hang participated in a group of businesspeople in favor of preventing Lula from taking office if he won the elections in 2022.

Bolsonaro’s former right-hand man stated that Hang and another businessman asked the former president to demand from the Ministry of Defense a “more mature” report on the alleged existence of fraud in electronic voting machines and the electoral system so that they could “change the game “.

Hang’s lawyers say they cannot comment on Hang’s alleged statements because they did not have access to the content, which is protected by confidentiality. They say, however, that Hang vehemently denies the allegations.

“Luciano never suggested or asked anyone to adopt a measure designed to undermine the legal system and democratic institutions”, say his lawyers.

The businessman is defended by Eduardo Pizarro Carnelós, Alberto Moreira and Murilo Varasquim.

“On the day after the 2nd round of the 2022 presidential elections, Luciano declared that the will of the voters, expressed at the polls and which made current president Lula the winner, should be respected. No manifestation to the contrary can be attributed to him.”
