Ciro Gomes slaps a man in the face after being called a criminal; see video – 12/04/2023 – Power

Former presidential candidate Ciro Gomes (PDT) slapped a man in the face after being provoked during an event in Fortaleza, on Sunday night (3). The video was revealed by the Ceará newspaper O Povo.

“Tell us how you rob the population without being arrested”, the man asked Ciro, as he continued filming.

The recording shows that Ciro Gomes responded to this first provocation without getting excited.

“Whoever should know this is a criminal, I’m not,” said Ciro.

Then, the man accused the pedestrian of being a “criminal”: “you’re a criminal”.

Ciro Gomes reacted to the second provocation by slapping the man in the face. In the video, it is not possible to see the moment of the slap due to the movement of the cell phone, but Ciro himself recognizes it in the video sequence.

“Did you get in my face, you racist?” asked the man.

Ciro Gomes replied “yes” and justified that the aggression is for the young man to learn to respect him.

“I gave (…) you to learn to respect me”, said Ciro.

In the video, the provocateur also says that he will call the Military Police. “Ciro Gomes got in my face.” UOL contacted the Military and Civil Police to find out if the victim filed a complaint, but there was no response.

UOL also contacted Ciro Gomes, via press office, but there was no response. The space remains open for demonstrations.
