Cineteatro hosts the screening of a series created by Amazonians this Saturday (04) in Manaus

This Saturday (04) the Cineclube de Arte will hold another edition of the Amazonense Filmmakers Exhibition. On the occasion, the series “O Despertar”, directed by Dina Silva and Thomás Thiago Alencar, will be presented. The session, which takes place at 6:30 pm, has free entry and is rated at 16 years of age. The show takes place at Cineteatro Guarany, located in Vila Ninita, attached to the Palácio Rio Negro Cultural Center, on Avenida Sete de Setembro, Centro neighborhood.
The series lasts two hours and tells the story of police officer Helena, who, even years after her mother’s death, still suffers from the loss and saw her life change with her sudden departure. As an adult, she realizes that the ghosts of the past that tormented her are still alive. With the arrival of a murderer in the city of Manaus, she and police officer Maurício try at all costs to discover the criminal’s identity amid supernatural pursuits.
“The series talks about the supernatural, and about people who seek this supernatural to fulfill their desires, whether for good or for bad. It is a story with many conflicts, suspense, terror, and a killer who haunts the city of Manaus”,
said the director of the work, Thomás Alencar, who said he was very grateful for the opportunity to show his work.
“This opportunity to be able to exhibit works that we fought so hard to make happen, and which often, due to lack of opportunities, are at risk of being forgotten is very gratifying,”
declared the filmmaker.
The Cineclube de Arte is an initiative of the Government of Amazonas through the Secretariat of Culture and Creative Economy. The Amazon Film Festival aims to bring visibility to local artists, as well as encourage the public to appreciate this art.
