The artificial intelligence laboratory OpenAI launched the GPT Store, a marketplace for personalized artificial intelligence (AI) applications, the company announced this Wednesday (10).

The GPT Store is located inside the ChatGPT chatbot and is a place for users to discover and create GPTs, or personalized AI for tasks like teaching math or creating stickers.

OpenAI said the GPT Store was initially launched for users who have paid ChatGPT plans. In the coming months, the company plans to add a way for GPT creators to monetize their custom AIs.

The Microsoft-backed startup announced the GPT Store in November at its first developer conference. Originally, it was scheduled to go into operation later that month.

But in December, OpenAI delayed the launch of the GPT store, citing in an internal memo that it continued to “make improvements” to GPTs based on customer feedback. The delay was set against the backdrop of the surprising firing of OpenAI chief executive Sam Altman by the company’s board. Days later, he was reinstated when company employees threatened to resign in retaliation.

OpenAI also announced on Wednesday that it is launching ChatGPT Team, a version of the chatbot that companies pay for so that their employees can use ChatGPT at work.

ChatGPT Team separates a company’s data so that any information entered into the chatbot remains private to the company. ChatGPT Team costs between $25 and $30 per user per month.
