The Chamber of Deputies has held a cycle of debates with experts, scientists and doctors on the mandatory nature of the Covid vaccine for children, aged 6 months to 5 years, as determined by the Ministry of Health.
The second debate was held on Tuesday (21) and was attended by the following guests:
- Cássio José Micelli Guimarães: Cardiologist – Brazil
- Dr. Geert Vanden Bossche: Virologist, Researcher and Vaccine Developer – Belgium
- Dr. Pierre Kory: Intensivist, Pulmonologist – United States
- Dr. Chris Flowers: Radiologist – United Kingdom
- Dr. Jéssica Rose: Immunology, Biochemistry, Computational Biologist – Canada
- Dr. James Thorp: Gynecologist and Obstetrician, Maternal-Fetal Medicine – United States
- Dr. Peter McCullough: Internist, Cardiologist, Epidemiologist – United States
For the author of the hearing requests, deputy Bia Kicis (PL-DF), the debates are important to understand the “real need” and the risks that these vaccines can bring to children. “It is becoming very clear that there is a lot of scientific evidence that the vaccine, in addition to not being safe enough, is not effective, and is not necessary,” said the parliamentarian, in an interview with People’s Gazette.
The deputy also highlighted, which the scientists reinforced at the hearing, that “children have natural immunity and this vaccine can even interfere with this immunity”. “We had medical scientists, and people who are dedicated to working with vaccines and immunization agents, saying that this vaccine does not work in the same way as other vaccines that already exist in the country. This vaccine is a geyser therapy and therefore cannot be mandatory”, explained Bia Kicis.
Regarding the government’s decision to include the Covid vaccine in the National Immunization Plan, the deputy said that “the government does not want to debate”. “They call those who are against it denialists, and that’s why we made a point of bringing doctors from outside Brazil, the United States, and Belgium. We do not accept labels and narratives or those who treat our children with an iron fist, wanting to force them”, explained the deputy.
The third debate will be held next week with the presence of the Minister of Health, Nísia Trindade, to explain the obligation and possible penalties, such as fines and loss of social benefits, such as Bolsa Família, in case of refusal to receive the vaccine.
