A request for the creation of the Parliamentary Front Against the Precocious Sexualization of Children and Adolescents was filed in the Chamber of Deputies this Tuesday (14). The initiative is by federal deputy Messias Donato (Republicanos-ES). The parliamentarian now seeks the support of deputies for the Front to be installed. On the first day, Donato got 21 signatures by 8:30 pm this Tuesday. The minimum number required is 198 endorsements.

The Parliamentary Front Against Early Sexualization of Children and Adolescents aims to “sensitize and mobilize parliamentarians and the Chamber of Deputies to debate and monitor public policies to protect the physical, mental, and moral integrity for the healthy and harmonious development of children and adolescents. adolescents, combating, at a national level, any act that promotes early sexualization and affects the gender formation of children and adolescents”.

By emphasizing that early sexualization is “harmful for the full development of children”, Donato stated that the stimuli for this to occur can occur “in a veiled and/or cunning way in social media, in political-ideological actions disguised as socio-educational inserted in the social environment and even within the family, violating the right to respect, to the development of the human person, in particular, their sexuality”.
