The Chamber of Deputies approved on Tuesday night (22) the provisional measure (MP) 1170/23 which provides for a linear readjustment of 9% for federal public servants. The proposal was symbolically approved.
The text also covers employees in commissioned positions, trust functions, commissioned functions of a technical nature and equivalent, as well as positions of a special nature. Payment with the recomposition has already been made since June.
The proposal was approved in the form of a substitute presented by the MP’s rapporteur in the joint committee, deputy Alice Portugal (PCdoB-BA). After approval by the House, the text goes on to be analyzed by the full Senate. The rapporteur recalled in her speech that the MP expires on the 25th and still needs to be voted on in the Senate.
The plenary excluded from the text one of the changes proposed by Alice Portugal. The removed section provided for the expansion of the assignable margin of federal servants, from a total of 35% to 45% of the salary to contract loans. This proposal should proceed independently as a bill to be sent by the Executive, informed the Chamber Agency.
According to the Ministry of Management and Innovation, the impact will be R$ 11.2 billion and was already foreseen in the 2023 Budget. In April, President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) sanctioned the bill that adjusted the budget of the Union for the recomposition of 9% in the salaries of federal servants and signed the provisional measure to guarantee the payment of the percentage.
