CBF reaches new record and revenues for 2022 exceed BRL 1.2 billion

CBF recorded record sales last year and closed 2022 with a total of BRL 1.214 billion in revenue. The surplus was R$ 143 million, twice the amount recorded in the previous year (R$ 68.92 million). About half of the total amount came from sponsorships: R$567 million.

The numbers were presented this Tuesday during the General Assembly held at the headquarters of the CBF, in Barra da Tijuca, in Rio de Janeiro. In addition to sponsorships, the entity was able to register considerable numbers thanks to reviews, readjustments and termination of contracts that were in force.

“The CBF did an austerity job, not only with regard to the evolution of revenues, with the valuation of its assets – the Copa do Brasil had publicity rights that went from R$ 13 million to R$ 150 million -, but also with an austerity work in which it could contain unnecessary costs and, mainly, costs with regard to purchases”, considered the president of the entity, Ednaldo Rodrigues. “With the same products that were previously purchased, we achieved a cost reduction of more than R$ 20 million.”

Despite the high amount, the balance presented this Tuesday still does not include other resources already guaranteed by the CBF, such as the award given by Fifa for the fact that the selection reached the quarterfinals of the World Cup in Qatar (estimated at US$ 17 million , around BRL 86.2 million at current quotations) and the sale of two aircraft – a plane and a helicopter, with a total value of US$ 11 million (BRL 55.8 million). These values ​​will enter the entity’s coffers throughout this year and, therefore, will appear only in the balance sheet for the next year.

Of the total collected, more than half (R$ 702 million) were invested in the different teams and in the four divisions of Brazilian football.
