CBF president considers waiting until June to have Ancelotti

After saying that he intended to have a “clearer situation” on the definition of the coach of the Brazilian national team by May 25, the date of the next call-up, the president of the CBF, Ednaldo Rodrigues, is already considering extending the deadline a little to make the dream come true to hire Carlo Ancelottifrom Real Madrid.

According to the director, it may be necessary to wait for the end of the Spanish Championship and the Champions League, in the first half of June, to get a response from the Italian coach.

“I would like to reach the end of May saying that this coach or that one is not right, but it is not like that. We have two Fifa dates in June, but we also have the finals of competitions like the Spanish Championship, on June 10th we have the final of Champions. We’ve been following it, the radar is on so as not to make any approach in a competitive dispute”, said Ednaldo in an interview with the Qatari television network bein sports.

With no formal proposal in Ancelotti’s hands, the CBF president says he is aware of the possibility of having the offer rejected when the coach agrees to talk about the matter, at the end of the competitions. If the answer is negative, there is already a plan B to be executed.

“I try to be very ethical. I can’t approach any coach who has a contract with a club. We have tried to be patient, waiting for the right time to have a conversation, a meeting, also participating who presides over the club and has a contract directly. the moment we receive the signal that it is his will too, we will start talking, prepared for what can be a yes or no. From there, we will go to a plan B”, said Ednaldo.

At a press conference on Monday, Ancelotti, who is focused on the semi-final match against Manchester City in the Champions League, responded to a reporter about the first ‘deadline’ set by the CBF. “I’ve already said that I don’t talk about my future. But I answer that the deadline is nonsense. But I don’t talk about my future. There is no deadline because I haven’t spoken to anyone. Again, I don’t speak about my future,” he said.

The Italian has a contract with Real Madrid until 2024 and should not speak about it until the end of the season, as he has made clear many times in press conferences. The semi-finals against Manchester City will be held on May 9th and 17th.
