The Brazilian Football Confederation was fined by the FIFA Disciplinary Committee 70 thousand Swiss francs (around R$ 403 thousand reais) for the widespread fight in the Maracanã stands during the classic between Brazil and Argentina, on November 21st, in the Qualifiers .
The body divided the CBF’s fine into two parts: the first, 50 thousand Swiss francs, for “failure to guarantee law and order at the venue of the game”, and the second, 20 thousand Swiss francs, for “lack of discipline around the stadium.” In addition, the entity was also punished for a field invasion in the game between Brazil and Bolivia, in the debut of the Qualifiers.
The match was delayed for around 30 minutes until everything was resolved both in the stands and on the field. Brazil lost to Argentina 1-0, in a game valid for the sixth round of the World Cup qualifiers.
