Club presidents and federation representatives met at the headquarters of the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF), this Tuesday (14). The purpose of the meeting was to define some guidelines on the future of the Brazilian Championship, such as the number of foreigners in clubs, the number of relegated players in the Brasileirão and punishments in cases of racism. Among the guidelines, punishments for cases of racism took an important step. The clubs defined that, with the recurrence of three punishments, there will be a loss of points. The first occurrence will be punished with a fine of BRL 500,000. In case of recurrence, the club will lose field command.
All presidents of Série A clubs were present at the meeting, although representatives of the Gaúcha and Mineira Federations did not attend. The press followed only the opening of the session.
The other subjects, such as the number of foreigners and relegated players in the Brasileirão, had only an initial “feeling”. The clubs were able to express their wishes and opinions, but nothing was defined. It will stay for the next chapters.
