Cars: sales grow in July with government program – 08/07/2023 – Market

The production of vehicles in July in Brazil fell 3.3% compared to June, to 183 thousand units, while sales rose 19%, to 225.6 thousand, driven by the benefit of the federal government that lowered the prices of products in the period, according to data released this Monday by the automakers association, Anfavea.
Compared to July 2022, production was 16.4% lower, but sales grew by 24%.
In the year until last month, the production of cars, light commercial vehicles, trucks and buses in Brazil was practically stable over the same period of 2022, advancing 0.3%, to 1.315 million units.
Already sales between January and July showed evolution of 11.3%, to 1.22 million units, according to data from the entity.
The sector exported 30,300 vehicles in July, down 27.6% over a year earlier. In the first seven months of the year, the sector’s foreign sales dropped by 10.6%, to 257.6 thousand units.
