Banning unisex bathrooms in schools, creating a market for cannabis and national policies for pets are among the proposals filed by citizens on the Brasil Participativo website, opened by the federal government to receive suggestions to be included in the PPA (Pluriannual Plan).

Anyone who wants to make their suggestions or support those already made has until July 14th. According to the platform, there are already 355,000 participants, 3,566 proposals and 396,000 votes cast. The PPA, part of the Union’s Budget for the coming years, should be presented in the second half.

One of the ideas is the banning of unisex and gender-based bathrooms in schools, educational institutions, universities and public spaces with large circulation of people.

“Attention to bathroom rules with an emphasis on gender, as gender is not a clear and objective parameter to define subjects. Only the sex parameter is”, justifies the author who, with the proposal, intends “to protect our girls and women in intimate places “. Until Saturday (24), the suggestion had received 1,211 votes.

The animal issue also moves the platform. The creation of a National Policy for Population Control of Dogs and Cats has 9,051 votes

It was also suggested a ban on the slaughter of donkeys throughout the national territory, a discount on income tax for hospital expenses with domestic animals and the creation of a SUS (Sistema Único de Saúde) Animal.

Another idea suggests that abandoned public or private buildings be donated to Brazilian Muslims who are looking for their own place to practice their faith.

There are also suggestions related to politics, such as allocating the electoral fund to basic sanitation works, restricting all representatives to a five-year term and reducing salaries.

The proposals also include the obligation to hire a tour guide for any excursions, the requirement for beer companies to collect glass bottles and the creation of a “cannabis market” to help “the development of the country”.

The proposal that received the most support is the one that includes municipal guards in the national public security system (31,000 votes), followed by the restructuring of the career of education technicians (28,500) and the inclusion of people with fibromyalgia, lupus, sickle cell anemia and related diseases such as PCDs (Persons with Disabilities).
