The Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) released this Tuesday (31), the professional men’s football calendar for 2024. One of the big news for next year will be the holding, for the first time, of an opening game for the Campeonato Brasileiro Série A. The opening game will be held on April 13, 2024, at a location to be defined.
Furthermore, stoppages will be maintained in all FIFA Date periods scheduled for next year and the Copa do Brasil will continue with round-trip games played on Sundays. The finals will be on November 3rd and 10th, 2024.
“I made a point of maintaining one of the greatest achievements of our management, which is the suspension of the Brazilian Championship Series A on FIFA dates. Given the great success, we will continue with the Copa do Brasil finals on two Sundays, valuing the competition even more. And the big news in 2024 is that, for the first time in history, we will have an inaugural game of the Campeonato Brasileiro Série A. It will be a big party to celebrate the start of the championship, which is the most disputed in the world. The CBF will continue working in our management to make competitions increasingly profitable for clubs and exciting for Brazilian fans”said the president of the CBF, Ednaldo Rodrigues.
