In the World Cup, the one held every four years, which everyone knows and follows, Brazil reigns: even without winning for two decades, it is the only five-time world champion (1958, 1962, 1970, 1994 and 2002).
In the U-17 World Cup, the first global competition in which players have the chance, some of them still inexperienced, of gaining wide football prominence, the Brazilian team is also at the top (along with Nigeria): four conquests (1997, 1999, 2003 and 2019).
In the under-20 category, however, whose World Cup kicks off this Saturday (20), Brazil sees someone ahead of them. And someone who, due to their rivalry, is not palatable: Argentina.
The Argentines, even though they have not won since 2007, have won six titles in the biennial competition that has existed since 1977, one more than the Brazilians (1983, 1985, 1993, 2003 and 2011).

To try to match Argentina, the national team will use the base that was crowned in February, in Colombia, South American champion.
The coach is the same, Ramon Menezes, who this year acted as caretaker for the main team in a friendly against Morocco (defeat by 2-1)
Incidentally, as the hole in the function remains open, as the CBF wants the Italian Carlo Ancelotti but there is no clear indication that the Real Madrid coach will come, there is a chance that Ramon will be responsible for the next call-up, for friendlies in June.
The coach was unable to take the two players who formed the attacking duo in the South American to the World Cup. Both Vitor Roque and Alexsander were not released by, respectively, Athletico-PR and Fluminense.

The defense and midfield did not suffer significant casualties –the exception is left-back Patryck (São Paulo)–, and Ramon will still have reinforcements that work abroad and have not played in the continental tournament: striker Marquinhos (Norwich, former São Paulo) and attacking midfielders Savio (PSV, former Atlético-MG) and Matheus Martins (Watford, former Fluminense).
If the coach does not decide to make changes to the tactical scheme he has been using, the wings should have two Corinthians players, Giovane on the right and Biro (who can also play on the side) on the left.

The debut of the selection is this Sunday, at 6 pm (Brasília time), against Italy, in Mendoza. SporTV broadcasts. The Dominican Republic and Nigeria complete Group D.
Twenty-four teams participate in the World Cup, and the decision will be on June 11, at the Diego Armando Maradona stadium, in La Plata.
