Selection trained at hotel facilities on the Gold Coast
Brazil carried out the first ball activity on the Gold Coast as part of the preparation for the Women’s Football World Cup, which will be played from July 20th in Australia and New Zealand. This Thursday, starting at 11 am (local time), the selection led by Pia Sundhage trained on the field of the Royal Pines Resort.
According to the press office of the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF), this first week the coaching staff will follow a training schedule controlling the load of the athletes’ activities.
“Today’s first practice was an introduction to the field, the girls are coming from a jet leg. Yesterday we did gym work, but today we went to the field to feel the grass. We did a very relaxed and competitive warm-up, working a little bit on the quality of movement, coordination, and to turn on the head. We also did load monitoring for this training, which is more relaxed, and at the end I did individual work with some girls to exercise a little more physical conditioning, as we have these two weeks to do that before the World Cup starts”
declared the physical trainer of the Brazilian team, Ivi Casagrande.
After this initial activity, the athletes did strength training at the hotel’s gym. In the team’s training schedule, the women’s team will train next Friday (7), Saturday (8) and Sunday (9). On Monday (10) the cast gets time off.
