The team’s debut will be on June 21st against a Concacaf team
The Brazilian team found its way into the first phase of the next edition of the men’s Copa América, which will be played between June 20 and July 14, 2024 in the United States. The draw held this Thursday (7) by Conmebol (South American Football Confederation) determined that Brazil will play in Group D alongside Colombia, Paraguay and a yet-to-be-defined representative from Concacaf (American Football Confederation). North, Central and Caribbean).
And the debut of the team led by coach Fernando Diniz will be against the Concacaf team (which could be Costa Rica or Honduras), on June 21st at SoFI Stadium, in Inglewood. Brazil’s second match is against Paraguay, on June 28th at the Allegiant Stadium, in Las Vegas.
The Brazilian team’s last participation in the initial phase of the competition will be on July 2, against Colombia at Levi’s Stadium, in Santa Clara.
Groups and dates
World champion Argentina is in Group A of the competition, along with Peru, Chile and a representative from Concacaf (which will be Canada or Trinidad and Tobago). Group B is made up of Mexico, Ecuador, Venezuela and Jamaica. Finally, Group C includes the United States, Uruguay, Panama and Bolivia.
The group stage of the competition, which will have the participation of 10 teams from Conmebol and 6 invited teams from Concacaf (Football Confederation of North, Central America and the Caribbean), will be played between June 20 and July 2, 2024. The quarter-final matches will be on the 4th and 6th of July, the semi-finals on the 9th and 10th of July, the game that will define third place on the 13th of July, while the grand final is scheduled for the 14th of July.
