Lateral Thamires acknowledged the team’s failures at several points

The women’s soccer team faced Canada in Nashville, for the second round of She Believes, a friendly tournament held in the United States, with six changes in the starting lineup in relation to the formation that beat Japan in the debut, by 1 to 0. Midfielder Ana Vitória entered the field in the first half, replacing Ary. As the game progressed, Rafaelle, Adriana, Bia, Gabi Nunes and the birthday girl Marta (who is still out of rhythm after 11 months treating an injury to her left knee) replaced Tarciane, Nycole, Debinha, Ludmilla and Kerolin, respectively.

Tamires, who started the two games in the starting line-up, recognized that Brazil failed in aerial shots, which resulted in goals from defender Vanessa Gilles and striker Evelyne Viens, one in each half. The number 6 shirt, however, pondered the importance of giving all players the opportunity to be on the field in matches like this one, which serve as preparation for the World Cup to be played this year in Australia and New Zealand.

“We behaved well tactically. We knew Canada was strong at set pieces. I think we sinned in the attitude, we could have been better, more obedient in this matter. In the next Fifa Date, in April, the Brazilians have confirmed a confrontation with England for the Finalissima (duel between the South American and European champion teams). The opponent of a second match in the period has yet to be announced.

Brazil occupies the third place of She Believes, with the same three points as Canada, which is ahead in the balance. The US, who beat Japan 1-0 on Sunday, lead by six points. The easterners, with no chance of taking the title, are zeroed so far.
