Brazil secured two places in the archery competition at the 2024 Paralympic Games, which will be held in Paris, France, with Jane Karla and Reinaldo Charão. The classification was obtained during the World Championship of the modality, held in Pilsen, in the Czech Republic, on this Wednesday (19).
The Brazilian vacancies – for the Women’s Compound Open and for the Men’s Compound Open – were achieved when Jane Karla and Reinaldo Charão qualified for the final of the Mixed Team Compound Open race.
Decision
The vacancy in the decision – to be played next Saturday (22) – came after the Brazilians ended the qualifying phase of the competition in third place with 1,370 points. India ranked first in the qualifier with 1,398 points, while China took second place with 1,388 points.
With these two vacancies in archery, Brazil now has a guaranteed presence in four sports at the Paralympic Games: men’s goalball, men’s and women’s sitting volleyball, cycling (track or road) and archery itself.
