Brazil approaches 1 million probable cases of dengue

Among the confirmed cases of the disease, 55.3% are women and 44.7% are men
Since the beginning of January, Brazil has registered 920,427 probable cases of dengue. The country also has 184 confirmed deaths from the disease and 609 deaths under investigation. The incidence rate of dengue in Brazil, at the moment, is 453.3 cases for each group of 100 thousand inhabitants. The data comes from the Arbovirus Monitoring Panel, released this Tuesday (27) by the Ministry of Health
Among probable cases, 55.3% are women and 44.7% are men. The 30 to 39 age group continues to account for the highest number of dengue cases in the country, followed by the 40 to 49 age group and the 50 to 59 age group.
In the ranking of states, Minas Gerais leads in absolute number of probable cases (311,333). Next come São Paulo (161,397), Distrito Federal (98,169) and Paraná (94,361).
When considering the incidence coefficient, the Federal District appears in first place (3,484.8 cases per 100 thousand inhabitants), followed by Minas Gerais (1,515.8), Acre (828.7) and Paraná (824.6).
