The BR-156, cooperation in matters of defense and security, issuance of visas in Amapá and educational cooperation, including the project for the Intercultural Frontier School, among other matters that impact the lives of those who live on both sides of the border, are also on the list. agenda of the Joint Committee on Cross-border Cooperation.
The return of issuing visas at the French Honorary Consulate in Macapá is a priority for the state government at the meeting. Since 2020, the European country has started issuing biometric visas available only at the French Embassy in Brasilia, making the process more expensive and time-consuming for Amapá residents.
