By means of a decree by then President Getúlio Vargas, on September 13, 1943, the federal territory of Amapá was created. The measure removed the new federative unit from the political and geographic dependence of Pará.
To celebrate 80 years, divided into 45 as a federal territory, until October 5, 1988, and 35 years as a state, Senator Randolfe, together with the state government, prepared an extensive program that began on June 6, with the launch , by Correios, from Selo Amapá – 80 years old.
On the morning of this Wednesday, 6, in the program ‘LuizMeloEntrevista’ (Diário FM 90.9), Randolph Rodrigues announced that on the 11th the Senate of the Republic will hold a solemn session in allusion to the eight decades of Amapá.
On the same day, at the National Congress, the former president of the collegiate body of senators and deputies, who also presided over Brazil, José Sarney, will relaunch his book ‘Amapá – land where Brazil begins’.
On the 11th and 12th, plastic artists from Amapá will exhibit canvases in the Senate, and around 50 companies that operate with the Amapá Sustainable Seal will also exhibit their products. The National Congress tower will be illuminated, bearing state symbols.

Randolph Rodrigues he also recalled that on the 12th the plenary of the Senate will vote on PEC 07, of his authorship, and which extends the transposition to the Union of about 35 thousand civil servants from Amapa with ties in the state and municipalities until 1998.
