The pre-candidate for mayor of São Paulo for the PSOL, Guilherme Boulos, and the former mayor of the capital for the PT, Marta Suplicy, had their first meeting to seal the partnership this Saturday (13).

In statements after the meeting, both highlighted the need for a broad front in order to confront Bolsonarism in this year’s municipal elections in São Paulo.

The officialization of the ticket, with Marta as vice-president, needs internal approval from the PT, which should happen easily, given that the entire negotiation was led by President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva.

Next Tuesday (16) the party’s municipal directory meeting will be held in São Paulo, when the details for Marta’s return to the party will be defined.

Regarding mutual criticism exchanged with the former mayor, Boulos said that the alliance is being built and that it will not look at the past, “but at the commitment of the present and future”.

He also highlighted that Marta had not imposed conditions to compose the ticket and that he received advice from the former secretary of International Relations of the current mayor of the capital, Ricardo Nunes (MDB), for the meetings he will hold, next week, on his trips to China and France.

The lunch was also attended by Rui Falcão, former president of the PT, who was given the task by Lula of assisting in the dialogue between Marta and Boulos.
