Bolsonaro’s reception has shouts of ‘myth’, attacks on Lula and cheerleading division; watch videos – 03/30/2023 – Power

Dozens of supporters of Jair Bolsonaro (PL) gathered to welcome him in the lobby of the Brasília airport. They didn’t know that the ex-president would leave through the Federal Police hangar, miles away.

They oscillated between singing the national anthem and shouting “myth”, “hey, Bolsonaro, where are you, I came here just to see you”. Sometimes they cursed Lula and Globo.

“Where am I going to hug my president?” asked Tania Rocha Cezar. The 77-year-old housewife took a bus from São Vicente to Brasília just to accompany the return of the former representative.

“I’m thinking it’s great that he’s in our arms again and we’re going to take him to the Presidency again”, said Tânia, who questioned whether the report was from Lula or Bolsonarist, because she doesn’t talk to Lula’s voters.

Like Tania, Fernando Orlandi also went to Brasília just to try to see the former president.

The 30-year-old businessman carried his 1-year-old son Kemuel in his arms, while waiting for Bolsonaro to leave through the international landing.

“He motivated agribusiness a lot, small and large [empresários]. We have to give strength [para ele]. His land is here, victory or defeat, he has to stay here in Brazil”, he said.

As the landing door opened, they applauded in anticipation of being the former president. At one point, a passenger left the place making the L with his hands, in reference to Lula. He was cursed and booed, under shouts of “thieving Lula”.

Although Bolsonaro discreetly left the terminal, his arrival changed the routine at the airport this Thursday (30). A blockade was made by the Military Police on the main avenue that leads to the place, but the cars were not stopped.

Policing at the airport itself was also extensive, with buses and agents in different locations from an early age.

Authorities were only expected in the PL. At the airport, there was only the former secretary of communication for the Presidency, Fabio Wajngarten, who sometimes spoke with the police and sometimes with the press.

Afterwards, son 03 of the former president, deputy Eduardo Bolsonaro (PL-SP), arrived, causing turmoil in the lobby. Supporters teased him and asked about his father.

They only started to demobilize around 8 am, when the federal deputy left the place.

Supporters also waited for the former president in front of the hotel complex where the PL headquarters are located, in the central region of Brasília. Bolsonaristas cheered and gathered to take selfies with former ministers and allies of Bolsonaro.

The former president arrived at the scene around 8 am, but frustrated supporters by entering through the garage.

The PL released a video that shows the president getting out of the car, inside the building, being received by the president of the acronym, Valdemar Costa Neto; by his eldest son, Senator Flávio Bolsonaro (PL-RJ) and the general and former Minister of Defense, Walter Braga Netto, who ran for vice on his ticket in the presidential elections.

Bolsonaro appeared at the restaurant window of a hotel in the complex, to briefly wave to supporters.

Bolsonaristas then sang the national anthem.

Ministers of his government, such as Ciro Nogueira (Casa Civil), Gilson Machado (Tourism), Damares Alves (Women, Family and Human Rights) and Eduardo Pazuello (Health) went to receive the former president.

The general, now a federal deputy, said that the president’s role upon his return will be to “aggregate the right, keep the right together.”
