Former president Jair Bolsonaro (PL) said this Thursday (16) that “everything is not right” in his relationship with the governor of São Paulo, Tarcísio de Freitas (Republicans), and criticized his ex’s political stance -minister and political godson.

“Everything isn’t right. I don’t rule Tarcísio. He’s a great manager. Politically he makes his mistakes. I would never do certain things he does with the left,” said Bolsonaro in an interview with Rádio Gaúcha.

Bolsonaro compromised by saying that governors depend on the federal government and cannot move away from it. But he said that, if it were him, he would not appear in a photo with the Minister of Finance, Fernando Haddad.

“I wouldn’t take [a foto]. Then I’m radical. What do I have to gain from Haddad, my God in heaven? What do I have to gain from the worst mayor in São Paulo.”

The then most recent public crisis between Bolsonaro and Tarcísio had occurred in July. It was triggered at the time by the articulation of tax reform after the former president’s declaration of ineligibility and exposed a relationship of criticism and gestures between the two politicians.

Although this is the main disagreement, other situations have already generated friction between the head of the São Paulo Executive and the Bolsonarist base, such as the relationship with President Lula (PT), the space given in the government and pragmatism in the face of public policies seen as progressives.

This Thursday, in the same radio interview, Bolsonaro spoke about the demonstration on September 7, 2022, which earned his former vice-candidate Braga Netto conviction and ineligibility at the TSE (Superior Electoral Court).

The former president said that “this issue of imbrochability is a lie”, denying having started the chorus. That day, in front of thousands of supporters in Brasília, the choir was led by his followers and reinforced by himself at the microphone during the act. Bolsonaro said on radio that he didn’t do it on the microphone.

“There in the sound car far away, when the parade had ended, in a sound car, a guy shouted ‘imbrochável’ below and I told him ‘imbrochável’. Without using the microphone,” said Bolsonaro.

Bolsonaro and his wife, Michelle Bolsonaro, will be in Rio Grande do Sul this Friday (17) for an event of affiliation to the PL of pre-candidates for mayors and vice-mayors.
