Caixa Econômica Federal begins this Friday (15th) the payment of Bolsa Família for March. In total, more than 21.1 million families will benefit from the income, which has a minimum value of R$600, but also includes additional payments depending on family composition.

Who is entitled to Bolsa Família?

You must be registered with CadÚnico, with updated data in the last two years, and have a family income per person of up to R$218 per month.

The value is calculated by adding the income of all people who live in the same house, whether they are parents, spouses, partners, children, stepchildren or siblings.

The calculation does not include compensation for material or moral damages, benefits paid by the public authorities on a temporary basis and amounts received in income transfer programs such as Bolsa Família and gas aid.

What are the rules for receiving the benefit?

In addition to the minimum amount of R$218, beneficiaries must meet conditions in the areas of health and education.

It’s needed:

  • Carry out prenatal care, in the case of pregnant women;

  • Monitor the national vaccination calendar;

  • Monitor the nutritional status of children under 7 years of age;

  • Maintain a minimum school attendance of 60% for children aged 4 and 5, and 75% for those aged 6 to 18 who have not completed basic education.

When enrolling the child at school and vaccinating him at the health center, the family must inform that they are beneficiaries of Bolsa Família.

How is Bolsa Família paid?

The amount is made available by Caixa, through the Caixa Tem application. It is possible to move money without having to go to an agency – that is, citizens can use it to buy online, pay bills, make transfers via Pix, among other functions.

To withdraw the benefit, you need to go to ATMs, lottery outlets, Caixa Aqui correspondents and bank branches. The beneficiary also has access to the amount through the Bolsa Família card or Citizen Card.

Bolsa Família pays, in addition to the aid of R$600 per month, additional payments depending on family composition.

There is also an additional payment to homes where there are pregnant women, breastfeeding women and/or children and adolescents up to 18 years old who are at school. Each member of these groups receives an additional R$50.

What is gas aid and who receives the benefit?

The Auxílio Gás program, also called gas voucher, is a benefit granted to families that are in the CadÚnico (Single Registry for Social Programs of the Federal Government) and was created to reduce the impact of gas prices on the budget of low-income people. .

The program was launched in 2021 and passes every two months the amount equivalent to the average national price of a 13 kg cylinder of LPG (liquefied petroleum gas), calculated by the ANP (National Agency for Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels).

Families registered with CadÚnico who are in extreme poverty receive assistance. In total, there are around 5.5 million beneficiaries.
