Black parliamentarians from nine parties that support the government of Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) will meet in Brasília on April 12, to discuss the anti-racist agenda.
The idea is for the event to be the embryo of a permanent network of representatives of the Legislature to discuss ways to combat racial discrimination.
Federal and state deputies from the subtitles involved must participate, in addition to councilors from capitals and hub cities. The parties participating in the event are PT, PSB, PSOL, Rede, PV, PDT, Solidariedade, Cidadania and MDB. President Lula and ministers will also be invited.
“With the meeting, we intend to prepare the first national day of anti-racist legislation in Brazil”, says Martvs das Chagas, secretary for Combating Racism of the PT and one of the promoters of the event.
