With classification away from home, the debutant team remains alive in the State
Manacapuru (AM) — Unidos do Alvorada went to Manacapuru, this Saturday (30), thrashed Princesa do Solimões 4-1 and advanced to the semi-finals of the second round of the 2024 Amazonense Championship. Cocote, three times, and China scored for the team led by Aderbal Lana, and Warlei scored the goal of honor for Tubarão do Norte, who said goodbye to the competition.
In the semi-final, which will also be a single game, Unidos do Alvorada awaits the winner of the clash between Manaus and São Raimundo, who will decide who will qualify this Sunday (31), at 3:30 pm, at Arena da Amazônia. It is worth remembering that the team escapes relegation if they are champions of the round.
In turn, Princesa do Solimões is left without the chance to fight for the 2025 national calendar via the State and will prepare for Series D of this year’s Brazilian Championship, which is scheduled to start on April 28th, against São Raimundo-RR, at home.
The game
The most dangerous first arrival of the match was from the home team. In the seventh minute, Lucas Góes rolled the ball to Victor Ramon, who finished low from inside the area, but Paulo Neneca saved twice. The visitors responded with a goal. After a free kick in the area, Thiago Spice headed it, Jonathan Braz passed it and China headed the ball into the back of the goal.
However, Princesa’s response was quick and just two minutes later, João Victor crossed for Warlei to head into the corner and leave everything the same in Gilbertão. The game continued frenetic and the scoreboard was moving once again. In the 22nd minute, Cocote took a free kick from Braz’s angle, who still touched the ball, but didn’t prevent Alvorada’s second and beautiful goal.
In the 51st minute of the game, Felipe Barão took a corner kick in the area and Rodolfo headed it very dangerously over the goal.
After the break, Princesa went in search of a draw, which was already good enough for them to qualify. Still in the sixth minute, Warlei found a beautiful pass for Matheus Lima, who touched Neneca’s exit, but the ball went neatly out. In the 17th minute, Tubarão’s situation became more complicated, when Victor Ramon received a second yellow card and was sent off.
With one more, Alvorada took advantage of the spaces left by Princesa and increased the advantage. After 29 minutes, in a counterattack on the right, Kauê rolled to Cocote, who crossed the ball to make it 3-1. And at 36, in a rehearsed play, Spice rolled to Cocote, who dominated in the middle, and hit firmly for the goal, he scored his third in the match and sealed the result for the visitors.
