A bar in Pinheiros, in the western region of São Paulo, wants to establish itself as a place where foreigners and Brazilians looking to practice different languages can mingle while having drinks and beers. Every Thursday, at 7:30 pm, Supra Bar Vila Madalena hosts the Multilingo Language Exchange project.

The concept is as follows: all customers walk around with stickers stuck to their clothes corresponding to the languages they are fluent in or would like to train. And they can, therefore, find other people with whom to maintain dialogues.

The organizing team seeks to create a relaxed environment so that learning takes place in a light and enjoyable way. The average audience per meeting varies from 60 to 110 participants, according to the project coordinators.

Multilingo also features themed programs, such as Latin parties, game nights and karaoke. From November onwards, meetings will also take place on Fridays, at the same time and place. More details will be released on the event’s social media.

On the menu, Supra Bar Vila Madalena offers a selection of drinks starting at R$12.90. Long neck beer ranges from R$10 to R$13. Snack portions include fries, tapioca dice, pastries, chicken fingers and snacks, and cost between R$28 and R$38.
