Athletico beats Sparta-GO 9-0 in its debut

O Athletico debuted with a rout in São Paulo Junior Football Cup 2024. Furacãozinho defeated the Sparta-TO 9-0 on Tuesday night (2), in a match played at the Sílvio Salles Stadium, in Catanduva, and started off on the right foot at Copinha.
In the first half, Rubro-Negro opened up a three-goal lead, with two from Wallace and one from Felipe Chiqueti. In the final stage, the team did not let up and even increased the score. João Cruz (2), Lucca Prior, Sorriso (2) and Wallace scored against the Tocantins team.
Rubro-Negro returns to the field next Friday (5), also at 7:15 pm, against Portuguese-RJ. The game that closes the first phase is scheduled for Monday (8), at 4:30 pm, against Catanduvahost team for Group 2 of the youth tournament.

This is Athletico’s 28th participation in the Copinha. The best campaign in history was the runner-up in 2009. In the last edition, the club was eliminated by Floresta-CE on penalties, still in the round of 16.
Defender Arthur Zanella and full-backs Léo Derik and Léo Ataíde, for example, were in that match and also played in the competition this year.
