Taking into account the disputes from days 2 to 5, the talents from Amazonas secured four medals
Started on April 29, the Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Championship is experiencing its last days of disputes, in Barueri (SP). Athletes from the Manaus City Hall program “Manaus Olímpica” won four more medals for the local scene. The tournament held by the Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Confederation (CBJJ) runs until this Sunday (7).
Taking into account the disputes from days 2 to 5, the talents from Amazonas secured four medals, two silver and two bronze, in the master and adult categories. In total, Amazonian jiu-jitsu already has 20 medals in the competition.
In second place on the podium were Jhonathan Frota de Souza and Randryely da Silva Souza, both featherweight and brown belt. Rodolfo Reges Mustafa (master 1 and black belt) and Guilherme Maia do Couto (adult and purple belt) climbed to the podium with bronze.
“We are in the final moments of the Brazilian Championship, and the results are satisfactory. The athletes are giving their all and the expectation is to ‘close with a golden key’, with new achievements this weekend. From now on, a historic trajectory for the sport of our city”, said the director-president of FME, Aurilex Moreira.
After a selective held in March with more than 400 participants, 42 athletes were awarded vacancies and airline tickets by the Manaus City Hall, through the “Manaus Olímpica” program, which is coordinated by the Manaus Sports Foundation (FME).
