Arthur Lira has full support from the AM Bench for re-election in the Chamber

To Em Tempo, deputies from the Amazon bench reported that they intend to support the re-election of the current president and that they are the reasons for voting for Arthur Lira

Manaus (AM) – The election for the presidency of the Chamber of Deputies is scheduled to take place this Wednesday (1st) and already has a favorite to occupy the position: the deputy and current president of the House, Arthur Lira (PP). To Em Tempo, deputies from the Amazon bench reported that they intend to support the re-election of the current president.

Deputy-elect Amom Mandel (Citizenship) stated that Arthur Lira is the only candidate for the presidency of the Federal Chamber who has shown commitment to agendas related to the Amazon, such as the defense of the Manaus Free Trade Zone (ZFM).

Amom also mentioned that Arthur Lira was committed to the regularization of airports in the interior of the state and to the independence of Suframa for the administration of resources in the Free Zone. For these reasons, he anticipated his vote for Lira.

On January 17, the group of deputies from Amazonas met with Arthur Lira in Brasília. At the meeting, state parliamentarians raised the main demands of Amazonas, which received Lira’s commitment, and signed support for the reelection of the current president. The following deputies participated in the meeting: Átila Lins, Silas Câmara, Captain Alberto Neto, Amon Mandel, Fausto Júnior and Saullo Vianna.

“It is not exchanging votes for support, this dialogue is normal. As a group, we reached a consensus. We hope to have the doors open with the presidency of the Chamber of Deputies if Lira is re-elected and that we will be able to continue defending not only the Free Zone, but all the interests of the state”,

Amon Mandel said.

In this sense, Amom highlighted that it “would not make sense” to vote for another candidacy, and that the support for Lira is understood by the bench as a whole. In the current scenario, in addition to Lira, deputy Chico Alencar (Psol) is also running for election.

Another deputy on the bench who confirmed to Em Tempo his vote for the current president was Saullo Vianna (União Brasil).

The elected deputy Fausto Santos Jr (União Brasil) declared to Em Tempo that he supports Lira’s permanence in the renewal of the parliamentary activities of the Chamber of Deputies. For him, “there is no” other candidacy that has not supported Lula and with “a neutral stance”.

“This is a portrait of the important role he plays for federal deputies. Unlike the president of the Senate, Rodrigo Pacheco, who is clearly in favor of Lula. There are no arguments against facts, the proof of which is that in the Senate, the PL has its own candidacy for the presidency, while in the Chamber, it supports Arthur Lira”,

said.

Congressman Sidney Leite (PSD) told Em Tempo that he will support Arthur Lira’s re-election because he understands that his candidacy meets the demands of the population, and because it is a name that consolidates several ideological aspects. “He represents a broad front. Even because, he managed to gather support from the PT to the PL ”.

Another parliamentarian from the Amazon bench who declared support for Arthur Lira’s candidacy was deputy Alberto Neto, who highlighted the importance of rapprochement with Lira due to future discussions on tax reform in the Chamber.

“Any help is very important during this battle that will be the discussion of tax reform and the support of the President of the Chamber will be fundamental for us to guarantee the competitiveness of the Manaus Free Trade Zone”,
