Arnold Ohio 2024: Francielle and Vissers win; Ramon vice – 03/01/2024 – Sport

Francielle Mattos from Paraná established her reign and was champion at the Arnold Sports Festival, the second largest bodybuilding competition in the world. Brazilians Ramon Dino and Isa Pereira also stood out, winning second place in their categories. Closing the Brazilian team in the championship, Bruna Seredich came in fourth place, showing the country’s potential in the sport.

The competition, created by Schwarzenegger in 1989, is in its 35th edition. Distributed into seven categories, 13 Brazilians were called up to compete. The first day of competitions took place this Friday (1st), with results in the Classic Physique, Wellness and Fitness categories.

In Classic Physique, Ramon faced 11 competitors. The “Dinosaur of Acre” – Ramon’s nickname – surpassed competitors such as Urs Kalecinski and Breon Ansley, but did not stand out against the Dutch Wesley Vissers. Although the Brazilian showed better conditioning and size in his quadriceps, glutes and hamstrings, Vissers stood out in his upper limbs, which brought him the gold medal.

In the Wellness category, Francielle Mattos competed for the award with Brazilians Isa Pereira Nunes and Bruna Seredich, as well as nine other bodybuilders. Mattos came first and Nunes reached second place. This result – the same as Mr. Olympia 2023 – consolidates the classic and respectful rivalry between the two. Seredich reached fourth place.

No Brazilian participated in the Fitness category. The champion was the American athlete Ariel Khadr. Bodybuilders Jaclyn Baker and Jodi Boam also reached the podium, in second and third place, respectively.

On Saturday (2), the Arnold Classic, Pro Wheelchair, Bikini International and Arnold Men’s Physique categories will be competed. Another nine Brazilians will take to the stage, such as Marcello “Horse” De Angelis, Rafael Brandão, Angelica Teixeira and Josué “Gorila Albino” Fabiano.
