Apple is working on a health service, equipped with artificial intelligence (AI) capable of identifying emotions, Bloomberg reported on Tuesday (25). Technology is part of the strategy to win customers interested in well-being.

With the proposal to function as a virtual personal trainer, the system called Quartz will aim to keep users motivated to exercise, improve eating habits and contribute to better sleep routines.

The AI ​​will be proposed to read data captured by the Apple Watch smartwatch to create personalized training plans, said interviewees with knowledge of the project. They asked to remain anonymous, as the releases have yet to be announced.

According to Bloomberg, the company plans to announce the service next year, but the project could still be canceled or delayed. Apple’s healthcare, Siri virtual assistant and AI teams work on these plans.

The iPhone creator’s investment in well-being makes up a central strategy for integrating its devices, especially the Apple Watch. The company is also developing an expansion of the health application exclusively for iPad, with the promise of helping users with vision problems, according to Bloomberg.

The Quartz initiative is reminiscent of LumiHealth, a wellness and fitness service that Apple launched in partnership with the Singapore government in 2020.
