Aneel will decide on an adjustment of up to 9.3% in the electricity bill in São Paulo, Brasília and Goiás

The board of directors of the National Electric Energy Agency (Aneel) will decide from this Tuesday (17) on adjustments to the electricity bills of four energy distributors that could impact consumers in São Paulo, Brasília and Goiás. Tariff processes will be analyzed from the companies EDP São Paulo, CPFL Piratininga, Equatorial Goiás and Neoenergia Brasília.

The average adjustments proposed considering all consumer groups reach 9.32% in Neoenergia Brasília; 6.56% in Equatorial GO; 5.66% for EDP SP; and -1.92% for CPFL Piratininga, reported the portal Power360. If approved by Aneel’s board of directors, the increases will come into effect next week.

Aneel must analyze an Annual Tariff Adjustment (RTA) for Neoenergia Brasília, which serves 1.15 million consumer units. In this case, the rapporteur, Agnes da Costa, voted for an average adjustment of 9.32%, being 7.78% for high voltage consumers and 9.95% for low voltage users, such as homes.

The other three processes are Periodic Tariff Review (RTP), carried out every 4 or 5 years. EDP ​​SP, which serves 2 million consumer units, proposed an average adjustment of 5.66%, being 6.15% for high voltage and 4.73% for low voltage. Companhia Paulista de Força e Luz (CPFL) Piratininga, which serves 1.8 million units, suggested a negative average adjustment: with a reduction of -9.38% for high voltage users, and an increase of 2.63% for low voltage ones. Equatorial Goiás proposed an average adjustment of 6.56%, with an increase of 10.62% for low voltage users; high voltage ones will have a reduction in tariffs of -3.91%.
